the 48th JOTA/9th JOTI is over and from my point of view it was another
big success. Again this year WOSM Secretary General, Dr. Eduardo
Missoni, took part and so showed that JOTA/JOTI is an important event of
World Scouting. Within his speech to the participants (you can read it
at http://www.scout.org/) he pointed out that the idea of JOTA/JOTI is -
as well as of the World Scout Jamboree camp - to "build friendship" and
so become "an apostle...of Peace and goodwill".

From the JOTI perspective:
As World JOTI Coordinator I again noticed that the number of
participants in the JOTI as well as the countries where participant came
from have been increased in IRC as well as in TeamSpeak. Again this year
the usage of the services at joti.org have been increased:

This thirteenth December, the Light of Peace from Bethlehem (www.lucedibetlemme.it), came to Padova, and in the reception ceremony, we have projected this video.

Dopo la bella giornata del 30 novembre, caratterizzata da una forte partecipazione, frutto di un bel lavoro all?interno dei gruppi per ricercare i candidati al consiglio direttivo, gioved? 4 dicembre si ? riunito per la prima volta il direttivo emerso dalla votazione della domenica precedente. Il nuovo direttivo ha subito trovato calda accoglienza da parte di don Leo e Marco che rappresentano un forte elemento di continuit? ed un prezioso riferimento per il nostro lavoro. E? stato un momento di reciproca conoscenza in cui ciascuno ha fatto emergere degli spunti che potrebbero diventare a breve linee programmatiche e di lavoro per il direttivo stesso, e si ? cercato di individuare un?opportuna ripartizione dei ruoli. A riconoscimento del lungo e ricco percorso fatto nell?associazione, si ? individuato in Alberto Santin il nuovo capo scout. Considerando poi attitudini e disponibilit?, Raffaele Piazzetta assume il ruolo di vice capo scout, Antonio Moretto quello di tesoriere e Roberto Baruzzo quello di segretario. Dato che per tutti ? una nuova esperienza e che quindi nessuno ha perfettamente a fuoco tutte le funzioni che ogni carica comporta, il direttivo si ? dato una scadenza, giugno del prossimo anno, per verificare il cammino percorso e quindi confermare o ridistribuire i ruoli. Il nuovo direttivo ha gi? convocato un nuovo direttivo allargato ai membri uscenti per iniziare un periodo di affiancamento che servir? ad inserirci appieno nei nostri ruoli e soprattutto a recuperare tutti i progetti, i contatti ed i lavori che avevano preso inizio e che sono rimasti in sospeso. Se il passaggio di consegne formale avverr? il 13 dicembre durante la celebrazione della luce di Betlemme, il passaggio sul fronte dell?attivit? ordinaria sar? pi? graduale grazie anche alla disponibilit? gi? manifestata dal direttivo uscente, ad accompagnarci nei primi mesi di lavoro. Respiriamo un clima di accoglienza e fiducia che speriamo di ripagare degnamente. Il Signore ci sostenga e ci guidi nel nostro operato.
